The ScanOps project—an extension of Wilson’s video Workers Leaving the Googleplex—is based on Google Books images in which software distortions, the scanning site, and the hands of ScanOps employees are visible. Through varied analog presentations of these images, the technologies and processes used are emphasized. These re-materializations are treated as photography—taking the form of framed image-sculptures, compiled in a mobile book-sculpture, and presented in a performance-lecture.

Andrew Norman Wilson is based in New York. He will participate in the Venice Biennale in 2013, Art Basel 2013, and group shows at Betonsalon in Paris, Steve Turner Contemporary in Los Angeles, and Carroll / Fletcher in London. He recently had a solo show at threewalls in Chicago entitled The Refrain: Medfield/Walpole, and is preparing solo shows for Club Midnight in Berlin and Important Projects in Oakland, California. He is currently an artist in residence at Impakt in Utrecht and was a 2012 artist in residence at the Headlands Center. Recent press includes Aperture, Artforum, and Tank Magazine.
