Purano Manush is a travelogue of an Indian journalist through the troubled histories of Roma people caught between warring Albanians and Serbians in and around Europe’s newest nation Kosovo. Filmed a few months before Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbian rule in 2008, the film places the new displacements in a historical context when Roma left India in early medieval periods when the Islam arrived.
