Description

Steel mug with “MERCY” stamped in the bottom. Produced in conjunction with Dean’s project for Nuit Blanche 2009, “FIRE AND SAUSAGE,” located in the Liberty Village district of Toronto. The mugs were filled with hot chocolate and given away during the event, along with sausages and fleece blankets.

FIRE AND SAUSAGE” suggests the aftermath of a collapse, a catastrophe or apocalypse but Dean is interested in the calm after a fall, when we count our mercies and shared the surplus. A collapse that has returned us to essentials, warmth and food and social generosity. Congregating around food and fire, strangers and friends were offered sausages, hot chocolate and blankets.

Edition of 10,000.
