Description

Jorge Pardo’s exhibition in the galleries at Haunch of Venison is his first in the UK. The show includes new works in the form of lamps, paintings, and drawings, however these works are to be installed far away in Mérida Mexico. The artist has purchased a house in Mexico that he plans to reconstruct and eventually furnish with custom designed tiles, floors and lighting fixtures all referencing the local surroundings and culture. This book contains beautiful full page colour photographs of the site in its raw state with superimposed photographs hinting at the artists alterations. Includes Liam Gillick’s insightful essay “It is it, Is It Not: Reclaiming Contingent Space”.
