Sue de Nom: Words

Artist
Lucy Pullen
Date
1994
Format
Artists' Books
Size
14 × 11 × 0.2 cm
Description

Pullen baked trays of sugar cookies in the shape of the word “words” then packaged them to simulate a grocery store item. Placing these in five different supermarket displays caused a stir in local press with headlines like “Half Baked” and “Who Cooked These Up?” Eat Your Words reflects a long standing interest in word play and at the same time disrupts the controlled system of buying and selling.
