Description

A well-designed and realized edition making an instruction-based project available for purchase in a limited edition of 50. An orange card and linen folder opens into three-sections, measuring 84cm wide by 37 cm tall (28 cm x 37 cm folded). The cover is debossed with the artist’s name in silver foil text. The interior, far left panel displays instructions, the center panel holds the black ink debossed drawing and the far right panel includes instructions and corner clips for the resulting photograph.

The purchasers are instructed to pose themselves, or to photograph a friend in the illustrated position. They are then intended to print the photo (c print) to fit the dimensions of the package (30×20 cm). The collector then sends the photograph to the Paris office of the publisher with an included form. Erwin Wurm will then register the photograph and the edition number. The artist signs and numbers the photo to match the purchased edition. The photo is then returned to the owner, signed and numbered, and ready to be housed in the folding cover opposite the drawing.

Complicated, yes, but so smart, unique, and fun!

Limited edition of 50.
