Description

A list of twenty-seven countries – the result of filtering a list of thirty-six countries where disappearances were known to have occurred during 1985, through 847 life-sized glass botanical models – is juxtaposed, one per facing page, with twenty-seven photographs, each of a botanical model indigenous to the country. The plates are reproductions of gelatin silver prints of Williams’ original photographs produced during 1987-1989. An exquisite book. The highly detailed teaching models are from the Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models, the Botanical Museum, Harvard University, and were made by Leopold (1822-1895) and Rudolf (1857-1939) Blaschka of Dresden, Germany.

From an edition of 1000.
