A USB stick embedded into a broken aspen branch contains forty short video clips of men imposing order on the natural world. The order of the clips are reconfigured by open-Player software each time the stick is inserted into a USB drive, revealing new meta-narratives.
open-Player is commissioning artists’ videos for small editions to be released on USB sticks utilizing their new compression and playback software. Each edition includes a video project and a USB enclosure designed or handmade by the artists. open-Player software enables videos to play automatically upon insertion into a USB port.
