A series of off-white ceramic dinner plates, each one augmented with two glazed thumb prints on the top and the implied handler’s remaining eight finger prints on the bottom side. Conceived to appear as if the plate has been presented with two hands like a business card with traditional Japanese formality. Sold individually with finger prints available in red, rose, pink, black, grey, blue, dark blue, violet and light green.
Jonathan Monk is an English painter and sculptor, born 1969. His work has been exhibited extensively since 2003, including solo exhibitions at the Centro De Arte Contemporáneo (CAC) Málaga (2013), Kunstraum Dornbirn, Austria (2013), Palais de Tokyo and Musee d’Art Moderne, Paris (2008) and the Institute of Contemporary Art, London (2005). His work has also been included in the Whitney Biennial (2006), the 50th and 53rd Venice Biennales (2003, 2009). He is represented by Casey Kaplan (New York) and Lisson Gallery (London, U.K.)
