Please join Art Metropole on May 29th from 6:00-8:00 PM for the opening reception of A Snowflake Melting, Its Sensuous Detail, Vida Beyer’s MFA thesis exhibition.
A Snowflake Melting, Its Sensuous Detail is a mixed media installation by Vida Beyer exploring an imagined relationship between the artist and a ghost of the author David Foster Wallace. Beyer utilizes the context of this imaginary relationship to explore ideas regarding attention, sincerity, masculinity, the internet and what to do with someone who has perpetuated harm.
This exhibition represents the culmination of two years of work in the University of Guelph’s Master of Fine Arts program.
Vida Beyer is an artist making objects, environments, texts and images (both still and moving). They are an entity invested in tactile and screen mediated living, mystery, intimacy, slowness, labour and things that feel immeasurable or hard to prove.
