Reactivating the Archive 2: Cason Sharpe on Greg Curnoe's Blue Book no. 8

Time
5:00-7:00PM

Please join us on Thursday October 17th from 5–7PM for the second event in Art Metropole’s Reactivating the Archive series, featuring a presentation from Cason Sharpe on regionalism, race, language, and negation, all through the lens of Greg Curnoe’s Blue Book no. 8, published by Art Metropole in 1989. Cason’s presentation will be followed by a reception with refreshments and snacks.

Reactivating the Archive expands Art Metropole’s past lecture series Activating the Archive, which ran from 1989–1995. A part of the celebrations for Art Metropole’s 50th anniversary, this reanimation puts forward a series of artist talks and performance lectures by artists and curators responding to works published by Art Metropole over our 50 year history. The next event in the Reactivating the Archive series will take place on December 5th and feature a presentation from Daniella Sanader on Lisa Steele’s artist’s book The Ballad of Dan Peoples.

Cason Sharpe is a writer and artist based in Toronto. He has presented work in collaboration with various friends and institutions across the country, and his fiction and criticism have appeared in various places in print and online.
