h1.School of Serial Production #1: Button-Making

Art Metropole launched a new initiative on Tuesday October 22, 2002: The School of Serial Production was conceived in order to share resources, to offer equipment and suggestions, and to instill an awareness of and appreciation for multiple production and distribution.

The inaugural event in the series focused on button-making and participants were provided with collage materials, paper, office equipment, staff help, and the necessary button parts and machines for do-it-yourself button production. For the nominal fee of $4.00 individuals made 10 buttons each, 2 of which they were asked to leave behind for archival/exhibition possibilities.

This event was so popular that we plan to repeat it in Spring 2003.
