DIARY is a pocket size book featuring 41 one-to-one color reproductions of Aki Onda’s cassette collection, a short essay by Onda himself narrating his long relationship with audio cassettes, and a real C-60 Compact Cassette of his field recordings: a beautiful multiple in a limited, numbered edition.
The recorded sounds take a new life as Onda improvises – layering, looping and processing them in the live setting with an array of hand-held recorders, guitar effects and vintage tube amps.
