Description

A fleece blanket with “MERCY” across it. Produced in conjunction with Dean’s project for Nuit Blanche 2009, “FIRE AND SAUSAGE,” located in the Liberty Village district of Toronto. The blankets were given away during the event, along with sausages and mugs of hot chocolate.

FIRE AND SAUSAGE” suggests the aftermath of a collapse, a catastrophe or apocalypse but Dean is interested in the calm after a fall, when we count our mercies and share the surplus. A collapse that has returned us to essentials, warmth and food and social generosity. Congregating around food and fire, strangers and friends were offered sausages, hot chocolate and blankets.

Edition of 5,000.
