Description

‘There are only two paths open to mental research, where our desire branches; aesthetics on the one hand and on the other, political economy. Everything which by itself, pure, for lack of meaning, as it were, before the appearance of the viewer, must be restored’. L. Budd Notebook 2003.

L. Budd is known to have exhibited in New Zealand and overseas between the years 2000-2009. She is believed to have passed away during the year 2005.

The Estate of L. Budd: Catalogue of Extant Works comprises 264 pages including a unique, hand-cut wallpaper dustjacket, and hand-annotations by The Estate of L. Budd. (artist’s edition), 75 Colour illustrations and 150 monochrome illustrations. Forewords by Johnny Romanov, Michael Lett, R.S., p. mule, Patricia Goronce and Ursula Bloom. Essay by Jim Barr and Mary Barr. Reproductions of 11 reviews and interviews with L. Budd by Florian Merkel.
