“Ten custom-printed #10 envelopes, contained within a cover slip.
This functional work deploys the envelope’s clear relation of surface and volume – a relation easily transferred to the consideration of any body. This is done directly with the image of the lemon peel, whose edges mimic the tears of an open envelope. The envelope and the lemon peel each describe the continuity of a body with its surroundings, as mediated by its surface.”
