Description

Byte is a glow-in-the-dark keychain made from the offcuts of the work Byte Patterns shown in the exhibition Living Data, Presumed Dead. This acrylic leaf is modelled after herbivory found in the forest ecosystem. Herbivory is the eating of plant parts by animals. These small micro-traumas remind us that we can find healing and a connectedness in our experiences. The organic (non-petroleum based) thermoplastic polymer has a phosphorescent coating, which allows us all to feel slightly more visible.
