Description

In this book-of-books, the Dutch designer legend Irma Boom explores the beauty and essence of the medium of the physical book, its potential, its beauty, and its meaning as a canvas for creativity. Though tiny in its physical dimensions, the 1000 pages in “Book Manifest” contain a survey of over 350 books designed by Boom during her long career, as well as multiple texts (by artists and writers such as Rem Koolhas, Michael Rock, Frits Scholten and, of course, Boom herself) that examine past iterations of the book and inspire a new generation to experiment and discover their own relationship with this simple and effective medium.
