Performance Saga, Interview 08, Alison Knowles

Alison Knowles
Edition Fink
13.8 × 18.9 cm

Alison Knowles is a founding member of the New York Fluxus group and has participated in its actions and exhibitions ever since its inaugural concert in 1962. She considers art as a process: what counts for her is the act, not the object. The dimension of sound often plays a significant role in her performances, which are radically undramatic and deeply rooted in everyday life.

In her interview with Andrea Saemann and Chris Regn, Alison Knowles talks about her work and gives glimpses into her way of thinking.. The DVD edition includes a booklet with an article by Martina Papiro.

Edited by Andrea Saemann and Katrin Grögel. 52 minutes. English with German subtitles. Booklet in German and English.
