Description

The Tie-break is an ongoing collaborative project between the artists Tibi Tibi Neuspiel and Geoffrey Pugen.

The first iteration of the project consisted of 12 consecutive shot-for-shot re-enactments of the legendary fourth set tie-break from the 1980 Wimbledon Finals between Björn Borg and John McEnroe. The performance took place during Nuit Blanche on October 1st, 2011, from 7pm – 7am on a specially installed tennis court in the center of Toronto’s financial district.

The second phase of The Tie-break occured in January, 2012, in the form of a gallery installation consisting of works ranging from sculpture and painting, to photography and video.

Numbered edition of 25.
