Artist statement: Fragmented abstractions, non-representational visions, one-sided cubes, forms, lines, and other moments of mystical clarity is a digital print edition of an original collage. This work is part of a larger series of works that reference taxonomic arrangements and other systems of classification. Drawing from a broad range of paper sources, these collages are made by mining the visual records of our collective past and rearranging them into new, imagined collections of an alternative (or possibly overlooked) natural history. These collages extend from the artist’s interest in the act of researching and envisioning possible futures; specifically how fragments, choices, hybrids, and ideas of the past/present construct the versions of the elsewhere futures we live/and will live with in.
