It’s the future, Ballard, and you’re already part of it. For the first time, a benevolent psychopathology beckons towards us. For example, the car crash is a fertilizing rather than a destructive event — a liberation of sexual energy that mediates the sexuality of those who have died with an intensity impossible in any other form. To fully understand that, and to live that… That is my project.

Vaughan explains his project in David Cronenberg’s movie “Crash.”

Impact is an exploration that sets out to reveal the possibility of reality leakage from fiction. It investigates and redefines the function of a specific series of images in order to equalize and compress them into something that could be considered as ‘one’. By challenging and distorting the narrative structure of the book it aims to create a clearer understanding of it’s content.
