Québec’s Charles Barabé finishes his ‘Confessions’ series with Les dernières confessions (The Last Confessions). It is a wonderfully composed and orchestrated piece in seven parts, with highly textured synthesizer tones building slowly to cathartic peaks. This music feels almost devotional, a spiritual confession exploring emotion and identity in modern Québec.
