Description

Chevalines focuses on archival research as an art practice around the theme of horse butcher shops in Paris from their legalisation in 1866 to today. Through historical prints, maps and texts, it presents the process of revealing alternative narratives to Paris’ working class culture and tackles themes like animal classifications, past and present human urban migratory flows, industrial ideologies and economic systems, and food as identity.
