In this tape General Idea examines the relationship between the mass media and the artist. The tape ‘documents’ the performance/installation “XXX (bleu)”, in which the artists reenacted Yves Klein’s famous actions, using stuffed poodles dipped in blue paint to replace the nude models. Found footage from television and film addresses the media image of the ‘crazy’ artist. Originally produced for the ‘Talking Back to the Media’ Festival in Amsterdam, and General Idea’s most popular tape.
