Description

In 1954 Marshall McLuhan, appropriating the visual style of Wyndham Lewis’ BLAST, produced his first book (more of a zine really) COUNTERBLAST, printing it on his office equipment at the University of Toronto.

This facsimile is produced in a bootleg edition of 150 numbered copies. It has been ‘queered’ by a Toronto artist, anonymously, by giving it pink covers instead of blue. The text is a condemnation of Toronto smugness, as applicable today as it was in 1954.
