Preliminary Studies is a bookwork comprised of preliminary studies that are created while making my paintings. In-progress works from the last 4 years were photographed on my phone and then manipulated using the photo editing program Paint 3D. Dozens and sometimes hundreds of variations are created with alternate colour combinations and compositions before a painting is finished. The images in this bookwork are discarded versions of possible solutions to paintings in progress. All the studies have been desaturated.
