Numbered edition of 100. Site-specific audio work created for the exhibition, HALOS: DAVID BUCHAN AND ROBERT FLACK (on view at Art Metropole from May 13 through July 30, 2005). Based on spoken-word cassette recordings given to Zealley by Flack during the final months of the artist’s life. The recordings document Flack’s sessions with psychic, Jeremy Stockwell. Zealley subjects the recordings to the “side chain” process, effectively reducing the sound waves to a series of “windows,” through which fragments of Flack’s original LP collection are glimpsed. Punctuated with stretches of silence (absence). Package features a reproduction of Flack’s handwriting.
