This book unfolds as accordion: text on one side, image on the other. The folds collapse one genre into the next: poetry, fact, fiction and philosophy. On the flip side a self portrait spans 22 ft of paper to map an image of the land. Made from Vancouver and its ruralities, Bronwen Payerle commands text and image to synthesize the effects of place upon person, and vice versa. Geography seeps through the paper, delineating
physical and conceptual terrain, to witness a becoming.
25 numbered pages of poetry, and short fiction, annotated in 55% grey text on 100% rag paper, archival inks. Verso extends to a 22 foot original drawing by the artist.
