Description

Illusory Self #5 returns to the multi-panel strip style of the first issue with featuring a single narrative, “The Secret Life of Booster Plants,” bringing the video game worlds of Super Mario Bros. and the Teenage Mutate Ninja turtles together. This time, the character revealed as “Nario” feels the highs and lows of the plants he uses to enhance his abilities. He must face an organized boxing match, and his opponent is a familiar amphibian with martial arts training. Later, a “Power Flower” gives an epic delivery in the tale of its origin.
