Screen shots of Charlie Rose interviewing British author Martin Amis are transcribed and printed onto sweatpants from Walmart. Topics ranging from sex, death, and politics are discussed on informal garments that most of us own but rarely leave the house in, which itself is a class notion that is changing with fashion. Functioning somewhere between a piece of fan art and a record of views on current issues and universal themes, the work also explores the interview format as an analogy between art and other forms of communication. The work ultimately relies on humor in hopes of soliciting a more ineffable understanding from the viewer.
