Published on the occasion of the show 3 → ∞ : new multiple art at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London E.1 19 November 1970 – 3 January 1971.
The exhibition served as a representative cross-section of current artistic production limited to a small focus: artwork realized by techniques unfamiliar in the art context yet familiar to industrial and commercial production. These production techniques allowed for artwork either actually produced in unlimited quantities, or suitable for potentially unlimited runs.
Includes writing by Janet Daley, Karl Gerstner, Reyner Banham, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Anthony Wedgwood Benn, and John Berger.
Catalogue includes the publication of three original printed multiple art works by Joseph Beuys.
