“After my dad underwent heart surgery, I became acutely aware of his mortality. This heavily influenced the way I made photographs and, despite his recovery, I began to see these towns and landscapes differently. I made pictures through the eyes of someone scared to lose the father they loved. Someone who was coming to terms with death and searching for solace through photographing. These images were made between 2014 and 2022.”
