Description

This catalogue accompanied the 2003 AA Bronson exhibition Felix, June 5th 1994.

As part of the process of mourning the losses of his partners Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal to AIDS and the end of their art collaborative, General Idea, AA Bronson photographed Felix on his death bed, after he had died. This book, published on the occasion of the exhibition of the photograph as the sole work in Bronson’s show at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, England, reproduces the photograph as its centre spread. Flanked by pages of an in-depth interview between Bronson and Matthias Herrmann adorned with images of Bronson’s other solo work, Felix, June 5th, 1994 is the anchor, both visually and intellectually, for the artist’s frank discussion of the past and the future of his career.
