For Artists’ Books, revisited, Matthias Herrmann invited 39 artists to revisit their Secession publication, customizing a copy of their book for exhibition at Art Metropole. Using whatever means they chose, the artists were free to remake their original work, so long as they remained within the bounds of the book. The artists have donated all works in the exhibition as a fundraising initiative for Art Metropole. This catalogue, published on the occasion of the exhibition, features an excerpt from each of the artists’ reworked publications, a text by Michael Krebber writing about Henrik Olesen’s Secession book as an exemplary way of dealing with the institution’s corporate identity developed by the artist Heimo Zobernig, Matthias Herrmann in conversation with AA Bronson, and an introduction by Ann Dean.
