Description

A zany sense of humor fused with a psychedelicized vision made Robert Crumb one of the most influential comic artists since the 1960s. His characters, including Fritz the Cat, Mr. Natural, Flakey Froont, and the Vulture demo Ness, and his underground comic books, such as Zap Comix, combine elements of social commentary and the British tradition of caricature. In this interview with curator Hans Ulrich Obrist at the restaurant of the Gare de Lyon station in Paris, Crumb talks about his attitude towards art, architecture and life. In response to his new status as a “museum” artist he quips: “Yeah, but is it Art?”
