Description

A catalogue for an exhibition held at Villa Medicea La Magia, Quarrata/Pistoia.

This book features documentation of Maurizio Nannucci’s various installations and interventions including his botanical, sound and neon works as well as his many artist-editions and multiples. Nannucci’s interest in the connection between art, language and image closely link him to other text-based artist-contemporaries such as Lawrence Weiner.

Nannucci’s interest in the dissemination of art and the role of artist-books led to his founding of his own publishing house and the Zona archive/art space in Florence as well as his association with A.A. Bronson and Art Metropole that are also touched upon in this book.

Each image is paired with an appropriate quote from Nannucci’s peers including artists, curators and writers.

Texts by Mollek Burmeister, Katalin ; Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Includes fold-out colourplates, a full artist CV and bibliography.
