GATHER collects a series drawings of nets by Grand Rapids-based printmaker Todd Freeman. These deceptively simple pen and ink drawings are a careful examination of the formal qualities of industrial nets used for a variety of applications.
In GATHER, Freeman creates a portrait gallery for an iconic craft; illustrating how a simple form can be abstracted to fit so many different needs – each with their own story to tell.
