Clock with printed face and natural wood frame – batteries not included.
Signed and numbered edition.
Colocasia esculenta was based on a painting titled “Taro spirits and miscellaneous roots,” made in 2016. The painting was inspired by a delicious root vegetable called taro, whose interior flesh when cut open ranges colours from purple to fuchsia. Similarly, time tends to be the main ingredient in painting, so it made sense to turn the painting into an object that displays time. Since the concept of time is also an abstraction, I decided to use this image as a compliment for the clock. Unlike other regular wall clocks, this gift offers the recipient an image to stare at while looking at time. – Patrick Cruz
