This graphic novel follows the character Gaylord Phoenix’s sexploits in a queer world, where gender, sex, and sexuality are fluid, chaotic, and undefined. Fake’s novel departs from the traditional comic panel format, with each page serving as another moment in Gaylord’s fantastical adventures through a gay utopia. Taking cues from American tattoo art, Fake creates drawings with impeccable line work, shapes, and visual clarity.
