Description

The audio document of a month long recording installation at Mercer Union. People were given $5.00 to attempt to sing, from memory, the song “Yesterday.” CD contains solo versions, a hum and whistle version by Japanese musician Aki Onda and a 60-plus “choir“of all the takes simultaneiously.

Accompanying poster is a ‘paper mp3’; all the code created by opening a opening a sound file in WordPerfect written out by hand. In this case, the sound file was the song “Yesterday” by the Beatles, edited down to it’s first sung word.
