Artist, Marcel Duchamp and filmmaker, Leni Riefenstahl are featured as d/r’s protagonists in a surreal screenplay that cheats geographical and historical realities. The two icons find each other after abandoning their respective life’s works, events that were actually separated by 16 years in real time. In this “place divided from the rest of the world” the action takes place within Duchamp and Riefenstahl’s works, minds and desires. Congruities with other artists such asJean Cocteau, Dziga Vertov, Yves Klein, Jackson Pollock and Michael Snow are revealed. d/r also considers related concepts of contemporary physicists such as Werner Heisenberg, Hermann Minkowski, and Albert Einstein.
