The artist duo Birdhead presents a hefty, cacophonous photo book picturing its neighborhood, Xin Cun, and its total razing to make way for the World Expo 2010 site. As a reflection of the nation and the times, in a typical Birdhead way, “XinCun” not only records a disappearing cityscape, but also their day-to-day lives.
Packaged in a cardboard box packed with garbage found on the street or in their studio in China, including crushed cans of coke, plastic bags and innumerable paper products. Includes a signed 3.5 × 5 photo.
