Description

Remixed Water brings together artists and musicians from Belfast, London, Glasgow and San Francisco. This CD is remixed from two of Ned Sublette & Lawrence Weiner collaborative albums, ‘Monsters from the Deep’ (1997) and ‘Ships at Sea, Sailors and Shoes’ (1993). Contemporary artists and musicians have been invited to re-stage and manipulate Weiner’s lyrics with several divergent musical genres such as two-step, electronica, noisecore, math rock and hard house. The result is a highly emotive life soundtrack that is haunting, lonely, rocking and sometimes very dancable. Each track is layered with beats, vocals and ambient sound. Absolute favorite tracks are Steven Claydon’s kind of Cramps-like rockabilly electronica and Filariahead’s Peaches-like electroclash with Beth Gibbons-like ephemeral vocals.

Remixers include: Bonnie Camplin, Steven Claydon, Erotic Ghosts of Vietnam, Filariahead, Luke Fowler & Daniel Padden, Sutekh, Tussle and Christopher Willits.
