Hotel Diary is Art Metropole’s latest publication in Matthias Herrmann’s ongoing Hotel series. All photos were shot in hotel rooms in Basel, Birmingham, Dublin, Ehrwald, Graz, Helsinki, Kassel, Krakow, Salzburg, Stockholm, Toronto and Zurich in 2002 and 2003. Interspersed throughout are diary excerpts from the years 2000 and 2003, addressing the artist’s internal struggle with his HIV status.
