Description

Softcover, perfect bound black and white risograph with black and orange risograph bookmark. Edition of 300.

Stoke v. 1650s. “To feed and stir up a fire in a fireplace.” From Middle Dutch stoken “to poke, thrust.” Related to stoc, “stick, stump,”, from Proto-Germanic stok, variant of stik, stek, for “pierce, prick.”

Stoked, for “enthusiastic,” recorded by 1963, but the extension of the word to persons is older.

Printed by Colour Code, Toronto.
