Alexander Pilis’ latest presentation as Architecture Parallax is a visual construct realized with a series of colour photographs of an upside-down metropolis, São Paulo, Brazil. The collection of images displaces the viewer’s position from a familiar environmental experience, to a world in perceptual conflict. A book object viewed from an inverted position articulated through an architectural paradigm: The Tower of Babel as a Utopian model that influenced the grand map of built urban forms.
