Description

The culmination of two years of research and residencies with the Art Gallery of York University, Caecilia Tripp: Going Space and Other Worlding brought together recent and commissioned works that poetically engage Édouard Glissant’s pensée du tremblement, a universe of thinking that trembles, shakes, vibrates, and stays multiple. Positioning the work against the backdrop of the Anthropocene (Kathryn Yusoff), of the history of experimental American music (Brent Hayes Edwards), and, of course, Glissantian tremours and intergalactic travels (Emelie Chhangur), this exhibition catalogue offers a snapshot view of the numerous orbits which the work of Caecilia Tripp traces. Her poetical work puts into relation the viewers engagement with some of the most pressing issues of the day.
Book designed by Lauren Wickware.
