Description

Walter Knowlton Gutman was a security analyst, former art critic, painter, philanthropist of the arts and “the Proust of Wall Street.” Money (often) talks and he speaks the language well, but he never lets it dominate the conversation—or these Letters. He’d rather talk about Women, or the sound of one clapping hand, or Women, or Allen Ginsberg in the White House, or Women, and yet somehow relates them to AT&T and GE. The letters throughout this book document Gutman’s non-Wall Street activities and friendship with Jack Kerouc, Robert Frank and Ginsberg. Some black and white photographs are also included.
