Description

Edited by Sara Diamond and Sarah Cook

This publication is a compendium of some of the most visionary thinking about art and technology to have taken place in the last few decades. Based on the research of the Banff New Media Institute from 1995 to 2005, the book celebrates the belief that the creative and cultural sector, in collaboration with scientists and humanists, have a critical role to play in developing participatory technologies that work toward human betterment. Included with the book is a DVD based on the electronic journal produced at Banff—HorizonZero, documenting BNMI events and co-productions.
